乙酰丁香酮（AS）的作用原理，是其可誘導膿桿菌Vir基因的活化，從而促進外源基因的整合。所以*好讓其有一定的誘導時間再轉化，效果要好些的，而不是加完后直接轉化（活化需要）。
乙酰丁香酮的配制方法：1，用于擬藍芥花侵染的，配制使用的溶劑為DMSO，母液為100mM，使用濃度請參照相關文獻。2，另外一種是用于愈傷組織的侵染，是用少量甲醇溶解后，再用蒸餾水定容。之后過濾** 。顯然兩者溶劑不一樣，不過建議還是使用DMSO。
